Day Room Monitor Initiative: Beyond the Basics Impact area: Basic needs (food, clothing, housing) Location(s): Bristol, CT Hours: Mon.-Sat., 7:00am-12:30pm Desired level of commitment: Twice per month Duration: Year-round Age requirement: 21+ Tasks may include: Monitoring a "day room" (community room) at a basic needs program Enforcing rules Setting up the "help yourself table" Serving 45 people or less Sanitizing tables between clients Offering assistance Developing relationships Encouraging Listening Providing prayer Maintaining a safe judgement-free environment Cleaning at the end of the shift Breaking down In order to volunteer, you should be: A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven't already) Willing to attend an orientation prior to volunteering Willing to submit a background check Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule Reliable Patient Honest Personable Open-minded Respectful
